Brian Daly
Pastor
Brian has served as the pastor of Pacific Beach Christian Church since 1994. Prior to coming to San Diego he served as the Associate Pastor at the Church of the Valley in the Van Nuys area of Los Angeles. He received his Master of Divinity degree from the Claremont School of Theology in 1991 and his B.A. in Sociology from UCLA in 1987.
Brian grew up in the Catholic Church and attended Catholic schools through high school. He began attending a Disciples of Christ congregation while in high school and was impressed with the loving, supportive and open spirit present in the congregation. He values the diversity within the Disciples of Christ and appreciates our efforts to work toward unity within the body of Christ. Brian is married with three sons and has valued living and doing ministry in the same community where he is raising a family.
Debbie Bishop
Director, Children, Youth and Family Ministry
We are excited to welcome Debbie Bishop onto our ministry team. Debbie is passionate, knowledgeable and brings a wealth of experience working with children and youth in both ministry and secular settings. In addition to serving as a youth group leader to both middle and high school aged teens, she has also coordinated children’s ministry programs with elementary aged kids. She has also worked with kids coordinating programs for the YMCA and she has worked at summer camps both at the Y and at our Disciples of Christ camp at Loch Leven. Debbie also spent a year living and working with children in Rwanda. Debbie has a heart for sharing the love of Jesus with children and youth and is grateful to have an outlet to serve here at PBCC.
Brian and Jordan Mageo-Sausser
Worship Leaders
Brian and Jordan are San Diego locals and have been playing music in church for most of their lives. They met in the New Student Band at Point Loma Nazarene University, served as interns in their worship arts program, and have served in a number of churches since graduating in 2019. When she’s not playing at church, Jordan loves writing her own songs and experimenting with different arts and crafts. Brian is in a PhD program at Pacifica studying Clinical Psychology and he likes cats and books. If you can’t find them at church, you should check the beach!
Janice Calabrese
Office Administrator
Janice is a Pacific Beach native. She was educated in the local school system and attended UCSD and SDSU. She worked as an elementary school teacher until her 2 sons were born. She has attended PBCC since 1995. In the early years she taught Sunday school. She participates in the Fishes and Loaves Ministry, serves as a Deacon, oversees the care of our Prayer Garden, and has been involved with the Heavenly Manna ministry. Janice loves her staff position as Office Administrator because she believes in the ministries, missions, leadership and “Open Wide Your Heart” philosophy at PBCC. She loves her church family, serving them and serving others in the wider community.
