“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”
Matthew 28:19 NRSV
It is our intention as Disciples of Christ to reach beyond the church walls to share the message of hope and love that is the Gospel. We enthusiastically agree with the Apostle Paul who stated:
“For I AM CONVINCED that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in CHRIST JESUS our Lord.”
Romans 8.38-39 NIV
We are mindful of the large number of people living in our community with no church home or affiliation. Over 50% of those living in Pacific Beach have identified no faith involvement of any kind. The motivating force that drives our ministry must be our desire to share the love that we have experienced in this family of faith with those around us. We believe the best way to do this is to open our doors to the community whenever possible.
We host the annual “Halloween Happening” to provide a fun and safe alternative for the children of our community on Halloween. We host two polling places in our building at each election. The Pacific Youth Soccer League (PYSL) has their monthly board meetings and coaches’ meetings in our building. Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times (a camp for children and youth with cancer) use our building for counselor interviews and training. We even provide overnight accommodations for groups building houses in Tijuana.
